Oh, I'm sure he'd have argued those Harvard scientists into submission. They'd have been nodding exhaustedly, even as he went on about how meat never causes cancer and the world as we know it would end in a storm of ice and then be renewed by, well, him and his family, apparently.

South Indian(Kerala) folks who eat tons of rice and no meat are severely plagued by diabetes and hypertension.

I would suspect they suffer from malnutrition as well.

I'm sure there are any number of bad diets- including some that include meat -that can contribute to any number of health problems.
But citing one as a way of addressing the red meat / diabetes issue is a connection I have a tough time making.

Grass fed cows are healthier to eat than corn fed cows.
